Comme la magie traverse insidieusement l’ensemble du travail de Jean-Baptiste Caron, il cède ici à montrer un trucage qui devient lui-même l’objet artistique : puisque les souffles engendrés par les ventilateurs ne parviennent pas à créer un vrai courant d’air, l’artiste utilise le mécanisme qui les fait pivoter pour simuler le battement des fenêtres. Ventilateurs, vantaux, fils, plombs, roues de skateboard, tout se met en action et déploie la chorégraphie d’un mécanisme empirique qui entend rivaliser avec le vent « réel » venant de l’extérieur.C’est toute une mise en scène poético-absurde du vide qui, malgré les grosses ficelles, nous laisse contemplatifs.

As the magic insidiously crosses all the work of Jean-Baptiste Caron, he is here to show a trick that itself becomes an artistic object: the blast generated by the fans do not manage to create a real air flow. The artist uses a mechanism that rotates to simulate the flutter of windows. Fans, leaves, wires, sinkers, skateboard wheels, all that is in action and deploys the choreography of an empirical mechanism which seem to compete with the real wind coming from outside. It is a whole poetico-absurd staging of the vacuum which, despite the pulled strings, leaves us contemplative.
